New Trane heat pumps have been installed in the last three years. The inside of the house was painted during the spring 2017 and 2019. The front columns were painted in the spring of 2019. The house is on West Carteret Water and has a septic system which has been pumped regularly every three years. The house has a crawlspace which is over five feet high in places and is suitable for storage of outdoor items.

The house is wired for a generator. The generator has been once since 2006 for 2.5 hours for a power outage during Hurricane Irene. We evacuated for Hurricane Florence, but the power was out such a short time that the butter in our fridge did not even melt nor did the milk sour. The subdivision has underground power lines and is less than two miles from the main transmission lines on Highway 58. The house was purchased while under construction in 2006. A half-interest was transferred to adult children in 2007.

The house received no damage from Hurricane Florence other than one loose piece of vinyl siding and a few pieces of soffit that were pulled down to the upper porch. The home is move-in ready and has been a permanent home since it was built. The house has never been rented. The neighborhood pool is less than a 5 minute walk. The neighborhood has boat trailer storage and the best boat ramp on the White Oak River. Boats up to twenty-one feet are allowed to use the ramp.

Taxes for 2018 were $2,164.61. Flood insurance is under $1,000. The parcel map may be viewed here. This is a shot of Raymond's Gut entering the White Oak River. The house is located on Raymond's Gut safely back from the river as shown in this drone shot

Shopping, three grocery stores, a Walgreen's, Lowe's Home Improvement, restaurants, churches, White Oak Elementary School, farm markets and fish markets are all less than ten minutes away. The house is in the midst of an amazing natural area. Great egrets, great blue herons, green herons, kingfishers, otters, and other creatures often are visible from our kitchen window or right from the dock. Drone shots of the area, including some of the subdivision may be viewed here.
